On Thursday the 9th of July a virtual work meeting occurred in preparation for the event “Riparti Italia, riparti cultura” (‘Restart, Italy; restart, culture’) to be held on the 5th of October 2020 in Milan and promoted by the AICI, the Association of Italian Cultural Institutions. The meeting, organised by the Feltrinelli Foundation and coordinated by the AICI’s President Valdo Spini, hosted participants from a large number of cultural associations in Lombardy, including the Academy, represented by Secretary-General Roberto Ariani. The event, which has already garnered the support of Milan’s mayor, Beppe Sala, and the Minister of Culture, Dario Franceschini, will consist of two sessions. The first, focusing on institutions, should include, among others, the European Commissioner Paolo Gentiloni; the Councillor for Culture for Lombardy, Stefano Ugo Galli; Elio Franzini, Rector of the University of Milan and Honorary Academician for Milano Navigli; Miuccia Prada, President of the Prada Foundation. The second session will be more technical, with speakers and reports detailing the situation in various geographical areas.
