16 October 2025 marks World Food Day, established by FAO to raise public awareness about the universal right to healthy, accessible food.
This year, the date has special significance, as FAO will celebrate its 80th anniversary and open the Food and Agriculture Museum and Network (FAO MuNe) in Rome: a permanent educational space dedicated to the history, science and future of food.
WFD invites governments, communities and citizens to work together to build sustainable food systems and counteract hunger and malnutrition worldwide.
On the very same day, the Italian Academy of Cuisine will hold its Ecumenical Convivial gathering on the theme ‘Roasts, stews and boiled meats in traditional regional cuisine’: a chance to champion our national food heritage and ponder the link between culinary culture and mindful eating.
