AIG assigns Italian prizes for 2021

 On the 5th of March, the Assembly of the Académie Internationale de la Gastronomie (AIG) was held online. The extraordinary session confirmed the current president, Jean Vitaux, for a third two-year mandate, while the ordinary session approved the financial statement and budget. Following the member states’ detailed presentation of their candidates, the Grand Prix and national prizes were assigned.
This year, the Grand Prix de l’Art de la Cuisine (Grand Prize for Culinary Art) was awarded to the candidate proposed by President Paolo Petroni: the prestigious prize was won by Antonia Klugmann, owner-chef of L’Argine a Vencò in Dolegna del Collio (Gorizia). The Assembly also approved the following national prizes:
Prix au Chef de l'Avenir (Chef of the Future Prize) to Paolo Griffa, chef at Petit Royal del Grand Hotel Royal e Golf in Courmayeur (Aosta); Prix au Sommelier (Sommelier Prize) to Ilario Perrot, of L’Alchimia in Milan; Prix au Chef Pâtissier (Pastry Chef Prize) to Federico Anzellotti, pastry chef at Dolci & Sensazioni in Miglianico (Chieti); Prix Multimedia (Multimedia Prize) to Maddalena Fossati Dondero, journalist and director of La Cucina Italiana magazine.
